Once your account is verified, buyers can reach out to you using the "Ask the seller a question" function on any offer page (active or closed).
-
Go to "My Sales" > Selling > and click the blue arrow ("Details") next to the relevant offer.
- Click the "Answer question" button to go to the offer page and enter your reply. By default, answers are public – but you can deselect this option. If not public, the answer will only be visible to you and the person who asked the question (if logged in).
You can also reply using the link you received via email when the question was submitted.
Please note:
- Questions are only visible to logged-in users if marked as public.
- You can only reply once per question. If you need to update your reply, please contact Customer Support.
- Reactivated offers retain all previously submitted questions and answers. You may request removal through our support team.
- You cannot delete questions or answers yourself, as they are legally part of the offer. If you've shared personal data by mistake, please reach out to Customer Support.

A sale through Ricardo creates a legally binding contract – including traceability, ratings, and protective measures.
Risks of selling outside Ricardo:
- No customer service support – no record of the sale
- No seller or buyer protection (e.g. MoneyGuard)
- No documentation for accounting, taxes or insurance
- Buyer details not verified
- No ability to leave or receive ratings – lack of transparency
Some users may misuse the “Questions & Answers” feature to initiate contact outside Ricardo – for example via WhatsApp or email.
Their goal is often to obtain sensitive data (e.g. credit card or e-banking info) through fraudulent links.
