Find an offer that interests you. If the Buyer Protection+ banner and the fees are displayed on the offer page, your purchase will be protected by Buyer Protection+, provided that you choose delivery by parcel.
Purchase of the item: Selection of delivery and payment
Delivery
For “Buy Now” purchases, you must select delivery by parcel. We will then verify your postal address, which must be recognized as valid by the postal service. If this is not the case, an error message will be displayed and you will need to make the necessary corrections.
If collection of the item is offered and you choose this option, your purchase will not be protected by Buyer Protection+.
Payment
Payment is made via the integrated payment methods. You can choose between TWINT and credit/debit card.
Purchase of the item: Confirmation of purchase
Clicking on “Buy and pay” is binding. After this step, you can no longer cancel the purchase and are obliged to pay for the item.
Any bid placed is also binding. Therefore, it is important to carefully consider not only the amount you bid, but also the shipping costs and Buyer Protection+ fees that you will have to pay if you win the auction.
Payment of the item
Once you have purchased the item, you can complete the payment using the previously selected method or choose the other available payment option.
- TWINT: You will be redirected to a webpage where you must enter a code, which you can use in the TWINT app to complete the payment.
- Debit/Credit card: Enter your payment details directly on Ricardo to complete the payment. Your bank may ask you to authorize the payment to finalize the purchase.
Your banking details are encrypted and secure. The money is not transferred directly to the seller’s bank account. We temporarily hold the funds to ensure a smooth transaction process.
Waiting for delivery
Once your payment has been received, the seller must ship the item within 7 days.
We will notify you as soon as the seller has handed over the parcel to the postal service. If you do not receive the item, you can open a case within 10 days after payment. Simply click “Report a problem” in the transaction and follow the instructions. Important: Buyer Protection+ fees are non-refundable.
Receipt of the parcel
If the seller uses the shipping label provided by Ricardo, we can track the parcel and you do not need to confirm receipt of the item.
If the seller ships the parcel independently, you must confirm receipt by clicking “I have received the item.” Attention: If receipt is not confirmed within 6 days after the parcel has been shipped, you will have an additional 3 days to confirm receipt or report a problem. After this period, receipt of the item will be automatically confirmed.
Checking the condition of the item
After receiving the item, you only need to check its condition. You have three days to indicate whether everything is in order or to report a problem/open a dispute. After this period, the purchase is automatically completed and the seller receives the payment.
