We're glad you want to sell on Ricardo! Here’s how to successfully list your first item on Ricardo.
Listing items on Ricardo is free, except in the Vehicles category, where a refundable listing fee may apply under certain conditions. A selling fee applies when your item sells.
1. Requirements for selling
Before you can start selling, you’ll need to meet a few basic requirements.

2. What can I sell on Ricardo?
Don’t store it in the basement – list it on Ricardo! You can sell almost anything on Ricardo – second-hand items, collectibles, or unique products. As a new seller, you can list up to 100 items at once.

3. Open the listing form
There are several ways to create a listing on Ricardo.
For your first item, we recommend using the web listing form or the Ricardo app. You can save a draft anytime and finish later.

4. Describe your article
Follow the steps in the form:
- Photos: bright, sharp, and taken by you
- Title: e.g. iPhone 12, 64 GB, black
- Product type & details: e.g. Smartphone, colour: black
- Condition: New and unopened, New (as described), Used, Defective
- Description: e.g. age, technical condition, special features

5. Chose your listing format
You have two options:
- Auction – with starting price and fixed duration → ideal if you're unsure about the price (e.g. used bike)
- Fixed price – “Buy now” for a set price → ideal for standard-priced items (e.g. highway vignette)

6. Select delivery options
Choose whether the item should be shipped, picked up, or both. The buyer pays the shipping cost you specify.

7. Optional: Boost your listing
You can increase visibility by adding a Boost to your listing.

8. Review and publish
Final check – are all the details correct?
Then click “Publish” – done!
A selling fee applies when your item sells.
9. Next steps
- Your item is now live.
- You’ll get a notification when someone places a bid or makes a purchase.
- In „My Selling“, you can edit, promote, or end your listing at any time.
- Didn’t sell? You can relist it – for example, with an updated price.
